My Obsidian Use Cases
I first downloaded Obsidian around two years ago when I was trying to understand how to properly build and archive my notes.
One of the difficulties I had when getting to grips with the app was understanding what information I should keep in my vault.
I made the mistake of trying to copy the vaults and notes that I saw on YouTube and across the forum, which set me back several months.
It was only when I was almost at the point of walking away that I started writing for myself — and saw the immense power and joy of building out my own system, rather than trying to emulate what someone else had done.
With that in mind, this article is about trying to give you ideas that might be useful to you. It is in no way perfect and I’m constantly looking at how I can improve things further.
Please don’t take this as a blueprint for your own vault, though. What is right for me may well not be right for you. So, if you’re going to the effort of making all these notes — then force yourself to only take those notes which are most relevant to your current situation and objectives.
