The Subscriptions that have survived my recent cull
A few months ago, I was mindlessly browsing the internet when I came across a forum post asking members to share how much they spend on subscription apps. I was amazed that people seem to be paying hundreds (if not thousands) of pounds a year, which seemed crazily high.
However, when I sat down and went through the apps that I subscribe to, I realised that I wasn’t far off that, which was a massive surprise for me.
(As an aside, if you’re on iOS and thinking of doing something similar, I’d recommend checking out Bobby — an app which tracks all of your subscriptions and calculates associated costs as well as when payments are due.)
Anyway, having got a decent overview of my subscription costs, I started to trim down those services to better manage my finances. The result of the cull is that I decided that there are seven services that I deem ‘essential’ to the way that I live and work — and they are as follows (in alphabetical order):
